Above is Monday afternoon.

This one is from this morning (Tuesday). Both facing east.

The Bridge at the Meadow by the Beaver Dam is a place I’ve taken 100s of photos of. Those are capitalized, because in the context of Bowen Island, they are named, known places.

At the same time I barely remember that it’s called Crippen Park — it’s just the area where these names live.

Huh. This detour into how (and when) Crippen got named is super interesting to me! I grew up with John Rich’s kids.

I’m staying on Bowen for the week after a long tour of work & event travel that took me from Salt Spring Island to Bristol to London to New York City to East Williamsburg Brooklyn and then home again.

On Thursday I’ll try a commute day to Z-Space. Walk to the ferry, a short 15min ferry ride, express bus to the last stop, a block down to Z-Space.

I’d like to do a longer trial run of living on Bowen, maybe a couple of months or more, as part of exploring what our next housing might look like.

Late summer. Feels like change.

A banana slug, greenish with a few black leopard spots, glides along the trail.
